Dr. Jurich was born in Jenkins, Kentucky, completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Kentucky majoring in chemistry. He continued at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and received his medical degree in 1970. Following medical school he completed his internship in Family Practice at the Chatam Memorial Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.

As a board certified Family Practice Physician in private practice for over 28 years, Dr. Jurich has worked extensively serving the rural population of Eastern Kentucky. He has a private practice clinic in Prestonsburg, Kentucky and sees patients at three local nursing homes. He also has hospital privileges at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg and Paul B. Hall Medical Center in Paintsville. He is currently a member of the American Medical Association, Kentucky Medical Association, and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Being affiliated with the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and the Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine, he spends considerable time teaching medical students to become future physicians as they rotate through his clinic.
